Intake
Hey guys i was wondering ur opinion on a intake. I have a 429 with lunati voodoo cam 284/292, dove c heads with valve job, and 10.5:1 compression. I have a offey port o sonic intake, but i was considering getting a edelbrock air gap for i think better street use. What do yall think?

Re: Intake
jmo,the port o sonic would not be my pic for a street intake. Dual plane for street driving.

Re: Intake
If I remember correctly, there was a thread floating around where they compared a bunch of different intakes. I'm searching for it as we speak

Also i was thinking of upgrading to a victor jr next year, but it says u must port stock type heads to match the ports. Would i also have to port my dove heads to match?

Probably not necessary, but you can do it if you like.clodracer2000 wrote:Also i was thinking of upgrading to a victor jr next year, but it says u must port stock type heads to match the ports. Would i also have to port my dove heads to match?

It will work with dove heads without port matching it I ran mine without port matching it at 1st.But when I upgraded to flat top pistons, and custom cam I needed to port my heads to match my intake but do not do any porting on the intake itself. If you port match your intake I would use 1230 intake gasket to do it not the 1231 the 1230 is a cj gasket the 1231 is a scj gaskit.

With an engine with that short of a stroke and unaware of the application, I agree with most, use an intake with two floors!

Re: Intake
as bad as the Awfulhoser intake flows and as small a ports are in it you know it might work but I would use a duel plane and throw the Awfulhoser in the beer can pile... they suck at best...
