Better have deep pockets for that class. It's not for your everyday cow hand for sure.

Re: new 275 car
I help a friend with his.It is a small block car. We've got it running 5.14 with a small block. It's not quite competitive even for local stuff but we're getting there. We have the 60 foot's in the teens with a best of 1.16.We're going to start working on some MPH now that short end is sorted out.You are right it is no joke but it is alot of fun. They react to very small adjustments, you have to leave the big hammer at home.

Something must be wrong with me. No matter how hard I try I can't get into the flat paint thing. It seems to be for thosr who eithrr cant or are to lazu to block sand properly.
Re: new 275 car
I help a friend also. He may be around 4th here at the local 275 races but the car and driver still have a ways to go. It either leaves soft or straight up. He's been 5.20's so far and we haven't hooked the second kit up or maxed out the first.dr's wife racing wrote:I help a friend with his.It is a small block car.

Re: new 275 car
when my car gets finish it may just have a garage done paint job with very little body work. and I'm not going with flat because I heard that the gloss finish may give me that extra 1/16" at the end of the track.

The Flat looks really good on SOME cars/trucks,and really TERRIBLE on others. Jon's ole mexican heap looks pretty good, but imo that Falcon looks like crap. Has alot to do w/trim and wheels I think.

Re: new 275 car
I was keeping the scales at the race that the video was from and I looked the car over really well on the big end of the track. It has a ton of really nice parts and appears to be built very well.

They are some BAD ASS rides in that class. Afriend of mine in New Jersey is running a MOD MOTOR in x275 and he has spent a ton of money getting his car to compete in that class. Ronnie Diaz is his name or they call him the MODFATHER. He is the only one that I know of running a mod motor.

Not true! I could shoot a high gloss clearcoat on mine right now and it would look as good as any custom job you would see at a car show
