Kentucky trip 4/30 need some 'brew
I am heading to Maysville/Flemingsburg, KY next week. Is there anyone in that neck of the woods that can hook a brother up with some of Kentucky's finest?
PM me please. Looking to make some apple pie and would like to use the good stuff.

Yea, I'm going to see if the local liquor store carries it. There is also Junior Johnsons brand and Old Smoky brand (their apple pie is good stuff)

I've tried SHINE in my recipe, and can't tell any difference from the everclear. As far as KICK,the 190* evercear will give you the most. The really smooth SHINE is only 100* by itself. When you get up in the high octane stuff,it gets mighty raw.

Right on, I've tried the old smokey pure corn shine and didn't find it as smooth as their white lightning.
Here is a couple more versions I found
2 quarts apple juice
2 quarts apple cider
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
3 cinnamon sticks
2 cups Everclear alcohol (pure grain alcohol 190 proof)
1 cup whipped cream vodka (Pinnacle)
1/2 gallon apple juice
1/2 gallon apple cider
4 cinnamon sticks
1 whole clove
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups 190 proof grain alcohol (such as Everclear®)
2 cups vanilla vodka
2 gallons apple juice
2 gallons apple cider
1 can thing of cinnamon stickes
Now start warming it up. When it reaches about 100 degrees add
2 cups dark brown sugar
2 cups light brown sugar
Keep cooking and stiring every now and then.
Add a few dashes of cinnamon powder. Not alot.
Cook until it starts to boil, around 225 should be enough.
Now let it cool.
What i do to speed this up is grab one of thoose big round cooler buckets/tubes you would put a keg or somthing in. Add alot of ice, water, and some salt. Now put the tank of mix into to let it cool faster.
One cooled to around 100 degrees you will now add the alcohol
1.75 litre of Absolute Vodka (the big bottle)
1.5 litre of Ever Clear Vodka.....or less if you want it a little weak.
Now use the emtpy jugs and fill them up with the completed beverage.....
And presto.....You now have Homemade Apple Pie......
Enjoy....

The smooth high proof shine comes from the "heart" of a run . The only commercial brand you will get this from is http://lblmoonshine.com/. He is a craft distiller with a recipe that came from Lbl and his family decendants.. This piece of ground in western ky was condemed by the federal revenuers because they could not control the "bootleg moonshiners" that resided in this area. As far as i know you can only buy this product in western ky liquor stores i might be wrong ?
I can tell you how to make it yourself if you want to be an "outlaw" no pun intended and no big deal as long as you dont tell anyone your doing it there is a difference in quality shine and anybody that says theres not has not had any

Ky Jelly, I just wish I could dedicate the time for the " real" shine for apple pie, maybe someday, but in the meantime I really like bbf-falcon's recipe and all I can say its extremely tasty and gets the job done
