My latest project:
1986 T-Bird Turbo Coupe NHRA Stocker. Ran a 7.69 at legal NHRA P/SA trim on April 20th. ( 4cylinder 2.3)
The previous owner set 9 national records with the car.
I hope to get # 10 and # 11 and set both the 1/8th and 1/4 mile Q/SA records in Bowling Green on May 25th @ the NHRA National open.
With only adding a roll bar the car will be run in Super Stock.

Thanks Nick.
Yeah, on my second pass in the car it lifted the left front tire.
Stock turbo.
The only thing not stock on the engine is the stock lift "cheater" cam and ATR header.
I plan to pull the weight bars and passenger seat out, turn up the boost and run the local 7.50 index class.
I'm just now learning this car. Sure is fun tho.

Thanks Rick !
I took the Bird to Bowling Green last night.
I added 183 lbs of weight to fit the Q/SA class and get some time runs before the Memorial Day weekend race @ BG.
The index for Q/SA is 13.80
The current record is 12.80.
I need to run a 12.79 or quicker to set the record. The backup pass has to be within 1 % of the record run.
Well, I turned up the boost 4 lbs and ran a 12.39 @ 105 mph. ( 1/8th was 7.77 @ 86 mph)
All 3 of my passes were 105 mph. The current 1/4 mile MPH record is 99 mph.
I still have 3 more lbs of boost to add, so it might run a 12.29 @ 3282 lbs raceweight. That's 1.5 seconds under the index.
I am amazed at this little stock turbo engine.

That's cool about your new stocker! Love the turbo birds. How was the track yesterday? They ran T&T? Was going to the OSCA race and they cancelled early Sat. morning. Left lane weepers!

Re: Lets see some pics of new or updated projects
Thanks Mike and Tommy !
Beech Bend was hooking good for me last night.
But then I'm only making about 315 hp.
This T-Bird has run 11.60's with all the weight removed and on a cool fall day.(by the previous owner)
If the engine holds together, it will be fun trying to be # 1 qualifer and setting both IHRA and NHRA records.
This winter I'm going to add a roll bar so I can Super Stock in complete legal Stocker trim.
