Thanks for letting me in.
I'm Zach. I'm new to the big block stuff. I've made pretty good power with a 4v 351c, but found a 1969 460 out of a lincoln for if/when I blow the cleve up. It's for a strip only torino. This'll be a stock stroke solid roller deal. I ported my 4v heads to flow 330cfm which didn't require much.
Got a couple questions. Do the c9 heads require a lot of work to get in the 330-350cfm range? Are they like a cleveland and need more work on the exhaust port? Also how high would I have to spin to get 600hp out of a stock stroke motor?

Welcome to the site the c9 heads need exh work also I spun my 460 6500rpm never hurt it but if was building a race engine get some new rods to be on the safe side.flow on the heads i will have to get some of the head porters to answer that.My 460 I in my ranger was stock bottom end except for the flat top pistons with a custom solid flat tappet cam with dove c head they are the same as the c9 heads truck wt 3265 ran the best of 6.71 in the 1/8 so yes you should be able to 600hp out of it

Thats moving pretty good! I hear you on the rods, have too much money in my stock 351c rods. I'm going aftermarket this time. If you don't mind me asking how much cam/compression and gear do you have in that combo?

Hi Dave, torinos rule! I'm just finishing up the drivetrain in this car and haven't ran it yet. The engine made a little over 500hp and the car weighs around 3400( i think). I haven't weighed it since we put a cage in it. It's got a built c6, 5000 stall and 4.57 gears. All I'm waiting on is a driveshaft plus s new front windshield and its off to the strip. Hoping for low 7's, we'll see. Here's an older pic.
69f100, that is pretty much what I plan on doing thanks for sharing. I'll have some questions for you in the future.

Currently I'll run what came with the car which is unknown white drag shocks and stock springs all around with traction bars. This car was a street racer and had a 302 with a tunnel ram, c6 and 8" before i got it. When I get the scratch it'll be caltracs and their shocks. Putting in the roll cage/sub-frame connectors wiped out my budget for few weeks. I bought this car as a roller in primer and am just getting it going. It'll be my first time at the strip.

Be very careful with the flimsy grill. It wont take much pressure to snap it if you lean on it ... Hard to find a replacement for it ...

Thanks bigjohn.
Dave, mine has already suffered some breakage haha. It's held on by strips of metal and some screws now. It's solid but if i do find one in good condition someday I'll grab it. I get lucky on ebay every once in a while.

Nice car !! But isn't that really a 70 Falcon???? Which to me is even cooler!!! Still wish I had my 70 Torino 429SCJ car it was quick with just a few mods!!!

Well I guess it is! I just checked the VIN and it has a 26 body code which the torino cobra website lists as Falcon sedan. I wonder if there's any difference?

Actually the way I noticed was the frame around the door window, only Falcons had that. It actually is a 70 1/2 Falcon as there is a 70 falcon based on the 68-69 Fairlane. Your Falcon is pretty rare you don't see a lot of them. What engine did it come with?? They were available with anything from a 6 cyl to a 429SCJ. I always wanted one to put my SCJ drive train in. They are rumored to be stiffer than a regular Torino because of the "post" at the back window/door area. Good luck with it again I love it!!!

Re: Thanks for letting me in.
Wow jeff thanks for pointing that out! The guy I bought it from is a hardcore ford fan and told me it was a torino, had it for 2 years thinking that. Never would have guessed it was a Falcon. I didn't even know there was a 70 1/2 model.
According to the VIN it was built in Atlanta and originally had a straight 6 with an automatic.
