I'd say there are some real idiots posting replies there. I really hope Ford can regain some of its credibility in the HD diesel truck market. I had 4 7.3L PS motors and loved them. I would love to be able to buy a good Ford diesel truck again. I love my Dodge Cummins, but I am a Ford man deep down.

Well, I'm no diesel expert by ANY means, (Huh Rob ) But I'm pretty sure I'm smart enough not to make a comment like some of those guys... I too am not really thrilled about how the new truck looks... But, I guess it "could" grow on ya...

Re: THe new 6.7L...
I got to eye ball the '11 at the OC autoshow and it does grow on you. I like the way it looks over the current 08 style. Blue gauge lights I think are nicer than the green, Didn't get to see if they got rid of the big red gear indicator that looks like a big warning light. I'm still sad though that ford went the way of chevy and ditched the hand shaker...

The 6.9 that was in my F250 was one reliable engine. None of the issues you hear about.

I really like the rounded rear fenders. That ugly front end is starting to grow on me though.

Are those things still on the road? Run all day long, might not be in "RECORD" time but you'll get there and back home...

Had one of those POS's too, couldn't keep the fan from falling off of it and going through the radiator. They don't have enough poop to get out of their own way, but they do seem to keep on ticking,(unless the stupid relay system for the glow plugs craps out and it won't start).

Them old POS's aren't worth 5 hrs of shop time +parts. If you put $500 into them, they're still only worth about $250 for scrap.

holy Shyt partner, a glow plug relay is pretty cheap and easy to put on
unless its got a turbo on it.....then its a bit tough to get at.
Schmitty why so much anger...maybe it was the operator???
mines got 400,000 on it and still purrs like a kitten.

No hate here, just the facts. If they run and operate that's great, but if they are starting to fall apart, they aren't worth putting parts into.

And here I thought you fellas were knowledgeable. The 6.9-7.3 IDI's ARE the most dependable diesels still on the road and definitely the easiest to work on if you should ever have to. Admittedly the early 6.9 GP system was troublesome but that went away in 88 for the solid state system. Here's an old 6.9 non turbo outpulling plenty of powerstrokes. https://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w103/Dsl_Dog_Catcher/?action=view¤t=IDIeselman.flv And one for the guys who want to see more than the tailgate http://www.thedieselgarage.com/TOTM/apr07.htm
