Post  jpierce55 May 28th 2013, 8:01 pm

I am missing the racing and the good old days of the bbf forum. I will not be doing any again. I still dont have a good work schedule and extra time goes to the wife. The bbf forum provided some great times and I got to know some interesting people!

My car is in pieces i am trying to decide on selling the parts or putting it together again.

If i put it together I will be selling it regardless. I cant find a job that gives Saturdays off and I could use the money on the house. I feel nostalgic though and its killing me!

I imagine you would get by if you didn't have it, so set it back and act like it isn't there, it aint eating anything. when times get better your back in business.

These things are like a addiction. Don't sell it,you will regret it. Take care of your family first,I did the same thing when I started a family 35 yrs ago, raised the kids and the love of my cars was still alive.

I have considered selling the engine, trans, and some misc. Items. It would make things more affordable and more simple if i had a stock engine and tranny.... and the extra $$$ from selling the stroker would help. Not that i expect much money from stuff in this economy.

12's or 13's is about all i could afford, time is still limited though....

I'm 8 years into my build and it's still not done; relocation. new work, and lack of time have it still in pieces. But like everyone says, push it to the side and wait until you have time. If it's not costing you anything to keep it, why sell it?

I only got to go to the track 1 time last year built a new engine for it over the winter and still haven't had a chance to make it to the track yet this year. I finally got the boss to set a new weekend shift by us working 12hrs shifts on the weekends that would have it where every other week we have a weekend off. I worked 7 days a week 12hrs nights and left no time to play but did help get the new engine built. I can understand how you feel with working weekends and not leaving time for fun and family it has come across my mind about selling mind but then I get to thinking it paid for and I don't owe anything on it. Just maybe Saturday week I will get to carry it to see how it does if mother nature see's fit.

I personally worry about rust with lack of use. Fortunately I still have access to some anti-corrosives and the inside of the engine is clean. We checked it Wednesday for peace of mind.
