X2 Not necessarily weak links, but a little of a mismatch. A big kudo, if you are making the BG carb work for you as they seem to be a real finicky hard to tune carb.

I'm not cam guy by any means, but is the lift and duration on that cam "backwards" because of the heads??? or just not spec'd correctly.

Re: 520BBF WHAT DO YOU THINK
We have sevearal cam wizards here, and they will chime in soon I'm sure. Most of the BBF's like a little bit of favor to the ex side. Seems like anywhere from 0-10* more exhaust duration depending on the heads. The B460's are an excellent head, similar to the A460 in some respects. Who spec'ed this cam for you?

your build is a close one to mine,4.440x4.250.a460 heads.the cam is even close to the one i'm running now.it depends on your intent whether or not the cam is small.if you need torque you got it at a useable rpm.i'm no cam guy either but i've got 2 big comp cam's i'll probably not ever use again.your intended use will be the biggest factor.what are you running it in?

The Vehicle is a 1971 XY Falcon 3/4 chassis ladder bar rear end weight is 3400-3500lbs i am happy with the power but if there is anything limiting it's peak ability i'd rather change it to acheive more we can always do with more power.

Re: 520BBF WHAT DO YOU THINK
Unfortunately i live in Adelaide South Australia and we have'nt had a drag strip for 10 years and we are in the process of negotiating with the
government to purchadse some land to build a new drag strip www.adelaidemotorplex.com.au so the car has been laying dorment. I am now getting inspired to put the engine back together and finish the car off. i was planning on running a rossler or neal chance powerglide want to try and keep the engine under 7200rpm.

OK, I'm jealous, and I hate you.
Welcome to the site. We demand pictures, or you will be sent to that Mad Max place where Tina Turner hangs out. What do they call that?

If you get a photobucket account, it is easy. There is a sticky somewhere about it.

Re: 520BBF WHAT DO YOU THINK
You could maybe pick it up a little by trying less timing. Maybe 32* as a starting point. Good Luck w/car and track.

Re: 520BBF WHAT DO YOU THINK
Nice numbers and welcome to the BBF Forum!
I agree with some of the others, that engine is begging for a 1250 Quick Fuel carb and more cam
You Aussies have the COOLEST cars IMO, can't wait to see pictures!

Re: 520BBF WHAT DO YOU THINK
Good Morning all, love everyones feedback i posted my avatar picture in the gallery as time goes by i will post more as you can see my car still needs a little finishing as we here more on the racetrack it will motivate me to continue assembly. I would love some suggestion on cam specs as the engine is currently apart so if i have to change camshaft it won't be a problem,I wan't to stick pretty close to that valve lift as i haven't got alot of piston to valve to play with unless i retard the camshaft or fly cut pistons.
Thanks All Great To Hear From You
