I was reading about the new Ford and Dodge NASCAR engines (yeah, the ones that aren't based on Stock engines). They feature a cam tunnel that is closed on the bottom to keep the cam bathed in oil.
Has anyone played around with this as a retrofit for older style engines? It seems to me that this idea would save alot of flat tappet cams!! It also allows you to direct the oil where you want it to reduce windage.
Thoughts???

A lot of builders in the Engine Masters contest block off the older engines from the bottom and make a cam tunnel out of sheet metal and epoxy; especially when those rules dictated flat tappet camshafts.

That's what I was thinking about Randy! It seems to me that this would add a bunch of life to a FT cam.
