Any ideals what causes this?
What would cause this to happen. Its a bracket motor. It was been together since 2010. This was the motor that was in my dads car when it burnt down in the trailer going to Jackson, SC. I still haven't counted how many runs that are on the motor. But has to be around 350-380. The motor started getting oil to the top of the cylinders. Did something cause this or was it just time for a freshiening up?

Is the moly missing or simply scarred...? Fuel wash at some time in its life will show a lot of scarring.

I wouldn't be overly concerned of the ring's condition unless the cylinder's wall is damaged. Time to freshen!
Simply said,
