Man, that sucks!! We are actually south of you folks. But once winter comes, it is pretty bad. We are right in the "Snow Belt", we have the Great Lakes almost all the way around us, big snow machines!!

Bill, I'm about due east of Chicago and a little south, so you are still north of me. I'm about 25 miles north Kansas/Nebraska state line.

Dam, tough crowd!! LOL
Schmitty, did you folks get all your crops (corn, beans) off yet or are you still waiting on that? They are green chopping corn here, the soyabeans are coming off too. The dry corn will be a few weeks yet.

I won't speak for schmitty, Bill, but around here, we are barely getting a good start. We are a good 3-4 weeks behind and all it does is rain or snow! Everyone is starting to get nervous to say the least. Hey, at least I know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving and Christmas...

Re: Winters Comin.....
That sucks Nevs, it rained alot for the last few weeks, but after it stopped, it got windy and the guys were out chopping silage a couple of days later. They had to get it off, it was froze the week before so it was getting pretty dry. Every one was worried that the beans were gonna start getting mold.
There was a few guys even getting a fourth cut of hay off. Seeing as how the first three weren't very good I guess it makes up!!

Re: Winters Comin.....
LOL guys, yep got to typing faster than my brain could proces. Any and all Kleenex accepted. Beans are done, and about a third of the corn harvested as wet corn and hauled to the feedlot. A lot of dry corn to go yet though. Lots of big farmers around me will be eating turkey in their combines. If I could get two good dry weeks I would be done.
I guess after 20 some years of woopin on them Cyclones, they deserved a win in our house.

Re: Winters Comin.....
I feel your pain there Bobby, the hay has been a b(*h for two years. I try to put up good quality hay for my customers, and getting decent hay put up has not been fun. Between getting rained on and putting up low quality hay, and then being to wet to get trucks loaded it has been a deal. Now we're looking at a lot of work with the grain carts because we can't get the trucks out of the fields when loaded. My neighbor buried a semi yesterday and my father-in-law had to pull him out. A little common sense is what is needed and a lot of patience. Haven't heard from Frank Merkl for a while, hope he's doing alright with harvest up north.

Re: Winters Comin.....
We fly out of Timmins the day before, stay the night in T-O and Fly out the next A.M. Hopefully theres no delay's leaving T-O as our flight leaves Saturday, and our wedding is on the Monday. It'll be nice. the rest of the week to relax, then to a different resort for the 2nd week all by ourselves. (which was free )
