rocks and stuff are never good. Bugs not so much an issue for the engine... a little protein never hurts. But some of them summer nights the june bugs can get pretty thick... dried cooked on bug parts aint good on the carb passages

I watched couple bugs explode at 120 mph inside my lexan scoop the other night.......

The rocks damn sure aint good for it, Ive had the headlights broke out of this car sittin in line behind the waterbox before.

My windshield was hit and cracked a few weeks ago by a rock from the burnout box.

I just wanted to be able to see how it ran w/o the filter. I did not want to run it open with a forward facing scoop. That would be just asking to eat a rock.

I have the exact one on mine. I just cut the handle off and screwed it to the air pan.

That's what I keep saying to my girl friend! After 20 some years that's history! I never understood, the bill paying starts, the bobbing stops! That strainer seems a neat idea although it reminds me of the hair net the brother uses at Waffle House.

I use the Edelbrock kidney shaped screen deal. We tried it with the foam element filter thingy and the truck died at the line.
With the base and screen only it works ok.
