K-member spacers
K-member spacers, who uses them and how far did you go? I'm getting ready to mock up the motor in my Fairmont and was wondering if spacing the k-member is necessary. I'm using a motor plate, mid plate, and a double hump x-member, just wondering what works best?

I am using 1/2" spacers. I wouldn't use anymore than you need. Header to ground clearance needs to be kept in mind when lowering the engine.

If you are using a motor plate the only reason to lower the K-member would be for pan to rack clearance, and that would depend on what pan you are using.

Set your driveline angles where they need to be then space the k-member as needed.

I ended up with a dropped k-member instead of spacing the k-member. Headers ended up tucking up nice and neat to the floor too. Bottom line is with a lowered, big tire car the pinion was so high up the tailshaft needed to come up a bunch to point where it needed to point. Not sure it would clear a factory trans tunnel though.
