Owensboro Hospitality

I competed in this years DragWeek (my fourth) and when I realized that my route would take me by Owensboro

I sent Charlie and Lem an e-mail to say hi and would they be open for a visit. Naturally they both said yes.

They took turns giving me and Tom a tour of the shops where all sorts of BBf goodness happens.

Thanks also to Lawes Mayfield and Philip Oakley for letting us snoop around. I even got to try BBQ Mutton.

I second what you said. They are all a bunch of good guys down there. The rest of the world could learn a few things from them. Friendliness goes a long ways.

You are welcome Michael, I hope you enjoyed the drag racing at Beacon Dragway as well. Next time you and Tom are in the area, drop in again.

They are as hospitable as they come. They are good people. I'm proud to say they are my friends.

Of everything you saw, did or heard while you were there you'll always remember the mutton... It's Charlie's favorite!
