DID I GET TOOK?

HEY guys just got my dove heads back from the shop. I ported them myself I bought the scotty online port deal great deal by the way. question is the price I got charged 1100$ I had bigger valves put in 2-19 and 1-76 plus harden seats for the exhaust I think, 3 angle valve job and resurfaced the valves were mine they brought the springs and locks. seemed kinda high to me but been awhile since I did any heads. 1100 t 300 purchase price and 200 for valves total 1600$ DID NOT THINK THIS PROJECT THROUGH VERY WELL. LOT OF MONEY IN IRON HEADS LOL:shock: 

No you didn't get took, you took yourself for a ride not thinking things thru.

LOL I like porting heads too, I like seeing what I can do with the factory stuff. But on a dollar per dollar vs. performance basis, your better off buying the aftermarket stuff. (Procomp excluded from that statment)

I have that in a set of dove heads that I done myself and mine still has the factory size valves I got a set of a429 heads and intake to match them for what i put in mine.

But that what I get for not checking things out nefore i jump in head first

TRUE my dove heads did great on the 460 it made 538hp with them in my ranger which I still have as a back up engine if some reason I need it.

Don't be so quick to sell those iron heads short. I ran a set of worked DOVES and they worked pretty well;) 

I had a set of heads that had a big hole in one chamber. A shop in Nevada Iowa fusion welded the hole plus put seats, bronze guides, valve job, slicked them up for cometic gaskets, and shipped them back for under 700. I think your 1100 seems a little high, unless they bought expensive springs and titanium retainers. In all honesty I thought my heads were done to cheap. Iron heads are cool.

You kinda DID get what you paid for ... within a $100.00 anyway.
IF  the work is high class and not just auto parts store quality.
