New best
I installed a new converter a few weeks ago and it picked up some mph and I just installed a new cam from Blake. Went to the track and got a new best on motor 11.25 117 even with the tighter converter. Then put the bottle to it. First pass was a 10.12 129 and I was like we are on to something here. Few more passes quickened up the progressive and added 2 degrees of timing I netted a best of 10.05 129. I wanted a 9 badly so I put an 82 jet in an took 4 more degrees out and bam 9.98 130.13. Very happy that I finally achieved my goals of single digits as well as 130mph and a 1.3 60ft. Best 60ft of 1.36. This was all done on pump gas and drag radials with a 4000lbs leaf spring truck driven to and from the track.

Re: New best
that's getting it done big time... you got me thinking of building 521... I just got into the 10s with a best of 10.81 but think it if all the star's align there a 10.50 in it... Great pass and driving to and from the track is even cooler with those ET

I'm impressed!
Hope mine will do 1.30s and 9something on radials and pumpgas.
Approx hoe much juice is an 82 jet?

Re: New best
Thanks guys. Yeah 82 is around 200-225. It went 10.05 on a 73 jet which is around 175. It picked up less then a tenth and 1mph with the bigger jet but enough to get my single digit pass. I still have an 850 carb and 1 7/8 headers so it's possible I'm maxed out between those 2. Track prep was awesome but the way the converter works it almost bogs the motor down the harder you leave with it so it allows the torque to push the truck without blowing the tires away. My best 60ft before that was a 1.43.
Quick 52: I went 10.38 with my 466 so you definitely have mid 10s in your set up

That's a big problem. What is your rear gear and tire size? I'm 3.70s 29.5" tires and a 2.46 1st gear.

Re: New best
I'm running the same tire. PTC told me 3800 on motor and 4200 on spray. I assume it's close to that and it has helped my truck leave a lot harder. Your tall first gear and rear gear will be tough to get to work consistently so I'm told. I may end up going to 3.50squick 52 wrote:running 315x60x15 mt dr they r 30" and a 3.89 4500 stall want to get a 3600 stalltfsbbf466 wrote:That's a big problem. What is your rear gear and tire size?
