Everyone. There is at least one headsup event every month, hell they just announced 2 " mini millions " bracket races so the non headsup guys are covered.

If I can get the car together by late summer/early fall....I'll come up, or rather "over".

Re: So if I try and get a race set up next year......
I would love to race with you guys again--I was just pushing this idea as I don't want to drive 2,000 miles to go to a small 1/8th mile track with guard rails. I do realize last time most of the problem was also 150 degree track temps and miserable weather. But if I am going to drive that far, I would like to run a a full 1/4 track that hooks with better weather. I think everyone was off of their expected ETs by a significant amount.
Re: So if I try and get a race set up next year......
this aint no outlaw 1/8th mile track w guardrails lol. they dont do much 1/4 mile stuff here though really. The Buick/Ford race in the fall is and its a blast.

What were the rules for the Ford Vs Buick shootout? Is there a link to last years race so I could check it out?

Make sure the track temp is at least 150 degrees also. And make sure you drive 2,000 miles first to get to it.

no problem with the heat, 2000 miles is another issue. Lolpsfracer wrote:cool40 wrote:I probably can't make it.guess ill stick to 1/8 mile outlaw tracks with guardrails.

I hated that the weather turned out as bad as it did, but that was just what it was. We only have one track around here that is 1/4 mile and our group can't afford to rent it.
So I guess it's 1/8 mile guard rail tracks or stay at the house for us. If everyone wants to pass the hat to rent Bowling green I'm all for it, 60 of us at 100 apiece might do it.

Yes i would drive that far again to race at Bowling Green. Call me crazy but i have always wanted to race there. It looks like an excellent track to boot. I called them once for another forum i was on and they were quite reasonable as the event was on a Sat with a normal TNT on the friday.
You could still run 1/8th classes at a 1/4 mile track .... Be easy on the brakes and wouldnt have to throw the laundry.

By the way--- i don't want to give the wrong impression, when we went out there last time the wife, my brother and i loved the area and meeting everyone. We had alot of fun. I was just disappointed with the ETs.

Yep my car ran a best of 5.44 this summer and the best it would run at the race was a 5.78 on racing gas. I really admire that you took a trip across country to come to the race, that was awesome.

Im talking to the track manager now, what would be an ideal date if i can get the track for a day?
