Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
Testing tomorrow and Sunday at Famoso. Going to see if the changes I made will allow me to 60' in the 1.25s consistently. Going for some 8.50s in the 1/4 as well.
If Saturday goes as planned, I am going to try a 300 shot on Sunday and do some 1/8th mile passes. Hopefully high 5.3Xs. After looking at the plugs, some full 1/4 mile passes after that. My best on the 200 has been a 5.56.
This motor has been running great for 2 1/2 years, time to lean on it some.
I've got 3 go-pros and my bro on the camcorder, so I should get some good vids.
Testing for SCSN9 in Vegas on 11/14-11/17.

Creep up on it. Don't hurt stuff.
If all goes well you should run your number. I've been there with my junk and you have MUCH more than me

Yeah definitely going just to the 1/8th first. If time allows I am going to try a 250 first on Saturday afternoon. I run a 200 now on 22 degrees of timing with VP NO2 120 fuel--but a very conservative 2 spread on fuel/nitrous. 5 3/4 lbs fuel pressure.
Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
I still can't believe how much it picked up after you did the heads. 9.41 to a 9.16.
I bet it would pick up more if I put a bigger carb on it to.

Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
Charlie did the heads but I can help you in the carb. department if you wish.
Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
Oh yeah, silly me.
I will PM you about the carb and get your thoughts on what I need. I didn't realize you sold carbs.

1] Big compression
2] Fast burn chamber
3] 10 head bolts
I think you should evaluate your piston to head distance & consider a cam change when you go to 300 shot and above.
Be carefull with the timing also.

Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
pull a little more timing and put more spread in it, 2 numbers sounds fat.

Just ran a 8.579 @ 158.78 with a 1.272 60' and an 1/8th of 5.495@ 127.15 mph.
250 shot, still conservative with a 4 spread, 5 3/4 psi, 20 degrees timing.

Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
So no trips needed to the Hero parts trailer yesterday, and I always say that is a good thing.
Ok, so here is the deal:
The Saturday runs were just my "baseline" runs as I wanted to see the difference my changes made on the following day, Sunday. So on Sat I ran two 8.75s @ 156 mph.
Sunday: I changed the tune up as follows: OLD tune up was 26 N20 jet, 24 Fuel Jet, 7 psi fuel, 22 degrees timing. Was too rich, leaned it up a bit to a 28 N20 Jet, same 24 fuel jet, reduced fuel psi to 6 psi on the N20 regulator, and backed off the timing to 20 degrees. Car responded with the 8.579 @ 158.78 with a 1.272 60' time.
Still showing a little rich. Stayed with same 28 N20 jet, changed fuel jet to 22, kept fuel pressure at 6psi, timing 19 degrees. I could tell the car liked that even more, but unfortunately it blew the tires off, so its making some power.
I also ran a 8.66 @ 157 but my bottle pressure was way low on that pass as there was a delay on the track and I was in the staging lanes a long time.
Anyway--I am going to stick with the 250 shot and continue to refine the tune, as I am noticing the engine responding to minor changes in a big way. Also, the car will be hitting the limiter through the stripe at 160, so perhaps a little taller tire or a slight gear change is in order. In any case not worried about it right now as my cage is only good to 8.50 anyway, and I think by continuing to refine the tune I will reach 8.50.
Video. There is always video. Video of my best pass:

Re: Testing tomorrow and Sunday - 300 shot
Thanks! I really think this thing has a high 5.3X in it for the 1/8th. I am running out of gear for the 1/4, I don't see me going any higher then 160 on the mph though in the cars current configuration.
