Which front tire??
What is a good front tire for a 3200lb BB vehicle? I was thinking I saw a post somewhere that the moroso drag fronts had the highest load rating, but I can't find it on their website.
Re: Which front tire??
if it's going to see a decent amount of street use you could also look into just using a conventional radial tire for increased tread depth over a "race" front runner.

Alan,
I run a 28" Hoosier (part # 18107) on the front of my truck and I've had no problems.
My truck weighs 3350 w/o me in it.
I just run a little more psi than recommended,.....around 45.

Re: Which front tire??
Thanks for the reply. That is what I was looking to hear. I will probably go with the hoosiers because they are less than 45 minutes from the house, but was also looking at the Moroso Ds-2's. Does anyone have experience with them?

I've been running a old set of good years skinny race tires... 24 inch tall... also running them at 42psi otherwise they look like they are going flat.... my junk weighs around 3850 though.... good luck

I like the Mickey Thompson front runners, bias ply, and available in 8 ply so you can run them at 60 psi no problem. Last thing ya want on the front coming back to earth is the tire giving up. Also they have them available in multiple sizes for 15 in rims, from 24 to 30" tall tires, so you can maximize roll out, if you've got the clearance.

The draw back to them is,.....they're only available in a 26" height.kim wrote:I like the Mickey Thompson front runners, bias ply, and available in 8 ply so you can run them at 60 psi no problem.
This won't work on all applications,......especially trucks.

22" to 29" on 15" wheels. 29" tall front runner is pretty damn tall.

The ONLY 8-ply front runner tire that M/T offer is part # 1573,........
26x7.5x15 Sportsman.
Heavy and too short for my taste.

Re: Which front tire??
I emailed Hoosier tire this morning and here is the response I got.
"Bias ply drag tires do not come with load ratings. I can tell you that these tires go on super stockers frequently with no issues. The PN for our 27.0/4.5-15 is 18106 & the PN for the 28.0/4.5-15 is 18107."
