Re: 9.95 @ 135.6
Thanks, Bros!
Well, it went like this:
Decent air at the Texas Motorplex. Did a bunch of work to the front suspension to free it up, and replaced a really bound up lower control arm bushing. Was hoping that would help the 60' times.
Went out and made a best ever pass of 10.009....previous best was several 10.12's, so we knew the car was working better.
Checked the plugs and decided to add 2 degrees of timing, bringing it to 30 degrees. Also decided to take away a little fuel pressure form the N2O, down from 8psi to 7.75 psi.
The next pass was a 9.97!
That was the end of the time trials, so I tossed a 10.00 on the car and went for it. Ran a 10.01 on a 10.00, but that wasn't good enough to offset my -.025 light.
Luckily, there was a later race for all of the folks who had won an event in the series over the last year, so we got to enter that one.
Made it to the 4th round semi finals and cut a really crummy light against a good buddy of mine. We had both dialed 10.02, and he had me by 1/2 a car at the 60'. So, I decided to "air it out" and caught him at the stripe with a 9.95 @ 135.6. Broke out, but it was fun trying! He cut a .016 light to my .143, and he ran within .011 of his dial so there wasn't much hope of me winning that one anyway....lol......
Brought home some hardware for making the semis, and had a ball in the process.
The car was leaving pretty hard, with the wheels up 12" and the back tires crying for mercy!
A very satisfying day, even with the driver errors.

Funny you should mention Tore, as he's got dibs on the converter that's in my car now..... at least SOME part of my car will finally make it to a Bash!
You know, if I could scare up an enclosed trailer to pull, I'd come to the bash. I'm just very fearful of pulling the car so far on an open trailer.

Greg all you have to do is get to the Bash you will leave your car in the track fenced area. Trust me Noone will try and bother it when Chuck is there and loaded.. ain't happenin, I would hate to have him after me and if he caught you the end would be so close.......

Nice job Greg.
Was the improvement mostly in the 60ft? Or was the improvement spread out over the whole pass?

Yay! Yellow Torinos forever! Congratulations! By the way, since when is .025 a bad light? If you cut a light like that and go only .01 over and lose, the other guy had the gods on his side.
As for the bash, you'd better make it, I want to see your car run and I'm coming a helluva long way to do it.

Dave,
I will have to dig up some old slips and see, because I am curious as to where the car got better.
The mph only picked up less than 1mph, nbut the 60 foot is substantially better. I'll post back when I find some recent slips.

Congrats Greg
So how much preload are you running on the cal-tracs and what shock adjustment seems to work best for your Torino? (If you don't mind me asking)

The car weighs 4160 lbs.....
We have the cal tracs set with a 1/8" gap both sides. Bars in the upper hole, and shocks on 3.
