Fuel Pump recomendation
Steve would like your input on fuel pump
have a Malloy 110 pump (90gph @6psi on a 3/8 line) or so the specs say
have a new NOS "BIG SHOT" plate system
was wondering if this fuel pump is enough for what this system is capable of.
& would you recommend a fuel as well
motor:
514 cid injected alky (NOS system will be race gas)
TFS 325 power port cnc heads
TFS Mafia intake
between 13-14.1 comp
lift : int. .755
exh. .763
dur int. .265
exh .276 @50
108 lobe sp
forge crank (crankshaft specialties)
Bill Miller aluminum rods
Aries pistons (dome)
MSD 7531
32* total timing

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
pump is plenty big, use a holley 803 regulator, as for gas c16 would be fine.
not sure how old the kit is or the jetting instructions.....

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
Jon got another ? for you, the TFS 325's plug recomendation is a autolite 3924, is the NGK R5671-** the racing replacement for it?
cant seem to find it (3924) on the racing conversion chart, I do know it's the 3/4 reach 14mm ,5/8 plug

Jon its the 84 hole plate, has the new jet chart (non pig rich)
I have the mal 4207 regulator & pump all new, just wanted to make sure it was enough for that kit.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
Ngk base looks good, run a 9 or 10 w bigger shots. I ran 71n 60f is a similar setup w my alky inj and it ran hard

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
did you use 110 race gas for enrichment?
thinking on a progressive deal like the one Leash Electronics has
I'm @ 32* total timing was thinking of pulling 14* out.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
I ran c16, pulled 8 from 29 and it was real safe, Imo big tires dont need a progessive, wheelie bars maybe.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
11 spread, & 21* total, so what I'm seeing on the chart is still on the fat side.... ???
Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
im sure it is. This tune worked for me..... you can prolly get away with more tiing w the alky but best to sneak up on it.

No, i went 30s
If you wanna go fast ditch the inj, buy a good gas carb and a fogger

Am I wrong thinking it wont produce 3 1/2 to 4 tenths reduction???? is that asking too much from this system??
Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
just depends on your conveter, on alky w a alky plate and the one I mentioned I saw about 2 tenths......it wont pick upmas much on an alky combo as it will gas. Something else w the injection the hit of the niitrous can flash the converter harder and that in turn drives the pump faster and will make it fat. Youll just have to try it and see whatnit does.
gotta remeber also the faster you go the more power it takes to get those 10ths.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
plate will be gas, converter is not a "nitrous" converter nor is the cam for that matter, did you run a high speed leanout on your deal?
Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
yes.
nitrous is a torque adder, so is alky. Imo if the converter aint "tight" with what you have now it may not pick up a ton withnthe spray.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
converter is a 5000, but I noticed when I changed to "Hy-Guard" fluid it seemed to tighten up about 200 rpm

got the 1 gallon fuel cell ordered today so it should be here by wed of next week...
Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
dont run any M5 or anything, plain alky.... id even leave the top lube out you dont even really need it with injection anyway.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
Try it out. Its more difficult to read the plugs with two different fuel burn rates but its not like you're hitting it with a 500 shot. On a big block anything smaller than 200 is very easy.

Re: Fuel Pump recomendation
