I was thinking of big city traffic, and starter wear. Maybe Ford has a built in time delay or a city mode, like radar detectors do, to lock it out when it becomes a nusance? Also seems like it would be hard on turbo oiling, if they are fed off the engine oil pump, and you run into stop and go traffic from a boosted mode, which would be common with a 2.7L in a truck?

I don't like this function on the BMWs that have it. Car makes a clunking noise and jerks when you hit the gas and it fires up to take off. Kind of crazy....

I've driven cars in Europe with the system on them, it freaking weird but it works.

They have to appease the Government. It no longer matters if the end user likes it or not.   

It's just like the fact that when I sold my Excursion, I didn't have the option to replace it with another one, because the environmental wackos pressured Ford in to dropping it from the line up.

Why do you think they stopped making it? The f'n tree huggers and news jumped all over Ford because it was the biggest vehicle made therefore it must be environmentally unfriendly. Stupid political bullshit. If Ford had any nuts they would have said F you.

The Hummer's where targeted also.

You can still buy a Freight liner pick up truck...... Make a hummer and excursion look like toys.

Those models where dropped because of low sales.

i have this on my 2011 MKZ hy hardly notice when it starts an stops. if it works the same in the trucks, it will be fine and a gas saver.

Does this "feature" have an override or anything?
Seems like it wouldn't be all that helpful if you were stuck in gridlock in an ice storm at about -8 degrees...
I keep seeing pics in my mind of that recent stuff in Hotlanta too...   
Oh well, maybe it'll run just long enough to keep the heater warm?

don't know how the truck will work, but on the car the a/c runs on batt. my old Escape hy the engine would start when the a/c or defroster was on
