NASCAR ............ #3 on the pole, never would have dreamt that. I heard Obama set the whole thing up for a publicity stunt.    Should take a little heat off the Petty/Patrick comments .........

After I learned the number 3 car was very fast in practice, I felt the car would capture the pole. While at the shop today I was thinking about the 3 car and it's current starting position, it would not surprise me during the 500 pace laps the remainder of the field back off and let the 3 car make a lap ahead of the pack. Why, just because!

Never understood all the hype over Dale Earnhart,Davey Allison could out drive him any day.   and Dale jr. is just average imo.

Dale Sr. always seemed to make things happen for him, at other's expense. His record should be worthy of mention and as Jr. goes! Well he seems like a nice guy although I think he's riding on Dad's name and money! Davey, now that's another story all together!

Hmmmmm......does this story sound like last year when Danica got the pole???? Although Dillon I think is a better driver. Sounds like Nascar is just trying to get some interest for the race.

Funny you mention all that. Dillon was handed the championship last year with a record number of caution laps that were thrown for no reason ........even the announcers were questioning the motive behind all the caution laps.

I thought the headlines having to be reworded last year for all the news outlets ............some were yanked because they read- "Danica sits on the pole" and "Danica on the pole" .lol

Yeah I was one who thought that last year Danica might be ready for the big time when she won the pole and seemed to be fast. That faded later when she couldn't finish better than 20th in any of the races after words. But it did bring a lot of national attention to Nascar for a while. Now the same thing with Dillon He's young, handsome (they say) and he is driving the 3 car. Yep I would look for the rest of the field to let him lead some laps as per Nascar just to get the publicity then fade away.
