I have a bare block that I'm planning to build. Does anyone have a list of all the small parts I will need to complete this? I just don't want to miss anything when I'm going together because I didn't have a complete motor to start from. Thanks

I would suggest you locate or Google a 70-80's Ford car or truck factory shop manual, they seem to be the best in my oponion.

What are you building? a FE or 385 series?

It's a 460. Will be a race motor. Just wanted to make sure I don't miss any special small parts that would normally be used from the original tear down. We have a couple fe 427's in the shop but no other 460's.

Just a few things from the top of my head you will need to keep.
1. Spacer in front of crank that slips on after the front cover is installed.
2. All the block plugs. front are different than rear.(lem can get them for you if you need them)
3.oil slinger in front of crank.(not really needed imo)
4. harmonic balancer bolt/washer
5. Thermostat housing
6. Cam retainer plate. (Buy a bronz one from Lem imo)
7.Head bolts (length will depend on what heads you decide to install)
Bout it,someone else can maybe think of more. Very Happy

Lem Evans stocks all of the "hard to find" 460 assembly hardware.
...well...except timing pointers...and I have those.
