If you move the flex plate in relation to the crank you are going to change the relationship between that and the starter...

There are no end to the combinations once you start factoring in midplates and such...

the starter drive should have 3/32 - 1/8 clearance from the ring gear when at rest to close or too far are both serious issues.

Why did the jw flexplate not fit? Mine fit the crank and glide converter fine.

Good news i took Powermaster off put my jegs starter back on after i carry it to be fixed.Install new gear jegs starter. While i had tranny out i checked over everything and found no problem.I did trim the back plate in between motor and tranny on driverside.Put all back together and try start engine and lost all power i thought starter lockup. So i check connection on battery and found ground wire had burned off frame. So i drill and tap and replace with a stud and new wire.It starts and sounds great. Thanks guys for trying help solve problem.
