spring cups or spring isolators?

Like the title says, cups or isolators? Pros and cons?

Isolator has the raised edge on the inside.

That's not an isolator, they are called locators.
They both do the same thing and are equal IMO. Only advantage I see is using the locator where you have limited dia capacity as the cups require additional space.

I.D. Locators won't require making the spring seat diameter larger however, they only work well if they are the correct ones for that application.
