Delay box setup with a C6
I installed a used Deadenbear RTD-6 box in my car last week. We run a .500 sportsman tree here, I'll be using a C6 built to Frank M's spec and one of his t-brake valve body's. Were is a good place to start on the delay box when letting go of the button on the top amber? It's not hard to tell it's winter still, I'm bored...

Re: Delay box setup with a C6
Just go to a tnt session and cut several lights in a row, using the same delay setting. At this point, whether you went red or green isn't all that important....it's only important to be consistant. Then you can use an AVERAGE of several lights to come up with a sensible number to add or subtract from your delay setting. Without knowing anything about your car combo, I'd guess somewhere between 1.040 and 1.080 seconds will get you started.

Very little TNT here, if your lucky you get two passes before qualifying starts LOL I'll start with that so go from there.

If ya gotta do it on raceday, then just throw in a 1.080 delay and cut a couple lights in qualifying. Hopefully you'll be moderately consistant (even consistantly red is ok.) and get a reasonable guess at an adjustment. Be ready to buy back in for a while. If this is your first whack at delay box racing, you're gonna suck for a couple of weeks. Don't be discouraged...just keep your routine CONSISTANT. Don't go chasing that final delay number (and even that will change a bit from daylight to dark, or from track to track.) until you know what's NORMAL for you and your car.

Seat time is what I need but it's hard to get. The track is 1.5hrs away and a temp setup on 5 weekends a summer so it's hard to get a lot of seat time unless you can afford to travel to other tracks. I'll be new to the delay box and trans brake - plus I'll have another 100-125hp under the hood - this should be worth the price of admission.

The first time you top bulb it, you'll swear there's something wrong with the car...it'll be the longest 1.080 seconds of your life.

My head will be against the seat waiting for the big hit LOL I did pretty well last summer, not too many rookie mistakes and only one break down - a brake problem that we fixed at the track and only missed one time trial pass.
