Valve Springs A-460 heads
I'm going to change the valve springs on my Motorsport A-460 heads which I now have some K-Motion K1000H springs on them that had 30 passes on them with a .700 lift roller now .824 lift with with standard ford racing valves. I'm looking at the PAC 1228 and 1247 springs but to me they look like the same spring? the cam has a lot of duration and I would like to see at least 250#@seat with plenty of clearance before spring bind. I also have a set of the manley next tex springs that came off a new set of TFS streets#4 I was thinking about using but they may be to weak at the installed height and I don't want to shim if I don't have to. I'm not going to remove the heads so I would like to hit it right the first time. are there other springs other than the pac springs in that price range I should consider I don't want over 280@seat or tremendous open pressures I don't think I need them.

Re: Valve Springs A-460 heads
I've had good luck with Isky 9705, 1.625 diameter. 570 rate
Installed at 2.010, 215-220 on the seat, 700-713 open, .060 from coil bind, last cam was Rev Drag Race intake .820 net lift measured at the 2.40 Ti valve. Worked well, two years, with slighly smaller RX .799 net lobe 2.35 stainless valve.
Why lot's of space to coil bind? I'd understood that .040 to .060 was good from a valve spring harmonics stand point?

I was thinking about a higher ratio rocker arm down the road. the Isky 9705 is pretty much the same as the as the K-1000H springs I have on there now.

Re: Valve Springs A-460 heads
Manley NexTek Valve Springs # 221424 or any of the similar spec "Blue Stripe" valve springs from the various mfg's. Erson, Isky, etc.
Same spec spring as installed on the TFS A460 heads from the factory. I have them on my A460's on my 598. Used them 2 seasons, replaced with another set last season mainly because I felt guilt. Haven't got around to checking the pressure yet, but I suspect they are all still good on the old set. Just replaced them when I had my Morel lifters freshened. .831 lift, 2.35 SS valves, 7K on every shift. Has seen 7400 on the hose.
