VR1 40w oil
VR1 40w racing oil.
I just saw where the store I work in part time has a case of 40w VR1 racing oil sitting on a shelf. What do you guys think of running the motor on it instead of 20w50?

Re: VR1 40w oil
I prefer the straight weight, heavier oils in my engines. I recognize they rob a bit of hp slinging around that heavy weight stuff but I like seeing the higher oil pressure when the engine temp is up immediately after a full tilt NOS pass.

Straight oil weights are usually superior to multi viscosities. Multi grade oils have polymers that create the thin/thick tendencies. They break down long before the oil does. If you can, always warm the oil before cranking.
