Re: drag racing bust houston..
I've done alot of street racing in my past. Not saying it was the right choice then but it is sure not now. The cars are so much faster than what we had in the 80's . I had a 428 cj in my 66 fairlane that could hold its own with most anything out there. It ran a mid to high eight in the 1/8 th. Then I changed to a small block in a cobra II, it had a little spray on it and ran 8.0's in the 1/8. Think about where that would put you street race these days. I just don't see where it's not worth 20 bucks to take it to the track.

I remember a Camaro that I had. Yes a Chevy....
Anyway, it ran 11.99-12.0 down hill with a strong tail wind. This was in 92.....I was king shit on turd island. May I thought I was flying!

I formally quit street racing I did some work on a car that was later involved in a fatal crash while street racing. They we're not on public roads. They were at a abandoned industrial park. Car got loose and hit someone.
