Adjusting Four Link
My right rear tire needs moved back about 1/2 a inch to be center. Do I just do this by turning the links on that side. Seems to be the correct way but figured I would ask as this is my first car such as this. Thanks Guys.

Re: Adjusting Four Link
I would get 1/4 on one side and a 1/4 on the other

Re: Adjusting Four Link
The easy answer is yes but...
There is lot that goes into setting up a 4 link rear. It could have rear steer built in and some other factors. Is there a way you can post a picture and or video to help us understand?

Just be sure the joints are still threaded in at least halfway. You'll be surprised how much one turn of the bar moves the wheelbase.

Re: Adjusting Four Link
First you should establish a central measurement to reference from. Use it for squaring the rearend to the chassis.

Does it drive straight? Have the wheelwells been trimmed an uneven amount?

Only drove the car a short distance, just bought it before winter and haven't had it out since. The wheel wells appear never to have been touched.

Re: Adjusting Four Link
As a general rule of thumb, body panels are not a good reference point for chassis adjustments. Even stock they can be off by a lot.
YOu need to establish a center line on your vehicle and use that as your reference point.

Re: Adjusting Four Link
X2 on what they are saying.
Squaring the housing by centering the tires in their wheel openings isn't the best idea IMO because factory sheetmetal can be off by a bunch. Doing it this way you can unknowingly adjust in some rear housing stagger if the body is tweaked any.
Square the housing off the nose-to-tail centerline & then trim, fudge, or BFH the wheel openings if you need more tire clearance.

Ok, that was easy....lol Got it clear the tires with very little turning. I am going to take it to an alignment shop and make sure all the measurements are ok. thanks for all the advice.

Re: Adjusting Four Link
100% agree. square the chassis to itself. the body is just that. A shell for decoration. Never adjust suspension for aesthetic value. If you are having a hard time squaring your car, contact a local Chassis shop. They wont charge you an arm/ leg for that service
