Cashion Bog 11-7-09 edit, with vid
Just got home from the Cashion mud bog. 1st time to ever run there, and a tough pit to run. Also, my first time to run for money. I ended up with second place and $45, lol. Paid the entry and bought gas for the bogger, so not too bad. Got beat by my buddy and his bbf powered bronco. Now I can clean her up and put her to bed for winter. Gathering pieces for a new engine which I hope to get done and run next year. Chris

Shane, you talking about Tony B. and his big green dodge? He runs in the class above me. It was a tough pit, Blue Ox ford got stuck once and he is also in class above me. I did manage to beat a bbc powered rail, that was awesome, LOL. Chris

No, Rick hasn't yet. He got some of his parts stole and alot of tools, damn thiefs. Alot of stuff is getting stolen right now. John Glazier got a brand new set of 38.5" boggers stole, had 1 run on them. Tony's dodge did pretty good but it wasn't running as well as it usually does. Rick's truck spit the intermediate shaft out between the tranny and t-case at the end and had to be loaded on the trailer with backhoe. If you go to krflive.com, you can see pics of the rail I ran against and beat. He's been after all year and hasn't gotten me yet. Chris

nice run man.
Several years ago (probably 10) tracks started making a swing from deep bogs to 6" of wet dirt to draw in more of the big money trucks. Over the past season Ive seen it swing the other way. Most every track I go to now have been digging their pits deeper and deeper each race. I think they realized people would rather see a truck down in the mud working for it than blow through the pit at 100mph. Regardless I think pits like this will be the norm for the next wave....just no telling how long it will last.
Curious how you beat a rail?

Hey Billy, thanks. I talked with Lem again this morning and Shawn got me some SCJ's headed this way, thanks Lem and Shawn. Kris, while over there saturday, there is 3 more pits being dug and they are kicking off the season Jan. 1st. It is really growing in this area again. As for the rail, this guy has been gunning for me all year. He started with a 67-72 suburban, 3 engines this year and at the last bog 3 weeks ago, the clutch and pressure plate came through the floorboard to greet him. He's a lucky man, along with his wife and friend. He pulled the remnants out of it and built the rail. He would of beat me had he had a snorkle or better air cleaner setup. Something about mud and water the engines don't like ingesting too well. It's getting quite comical because the engine in my truck shouldn't run as well as it does and he keeps throwing money at his in the wrong areas. It all has to work together. Chris

Yea, it was the nastiest the truck has been so far. Sure was fun while it lasted though.

come over to the East Coast.
In Virgina where Karl (kjett) lives is some thick nasty red clay with the texture of peanut butter.
Around here in SC its mostly black sandy stuff that gets hard as a brick 15min after your run. Its really heavy and will seriously cut your momentum quick.
