Kaase Boss 9 Heads...
Has anyone done a race only build with the Boss 9 heads from Kaase? Just wondering, because if so, I haven't seen any? Just wondering why those heads aren't being used for race builds. Is it because they are too expensive compared to other options? Can the rockers and the like not withstand big lift cams? Or , are they not really intended for race builds, but rather for more street rod builds. I think the heads are really cool, and they would be really neat for someone starting a build, just wondering why more aren't being used?

Quite a few boss 9 heads in race builds if you know where to look. I think because they have been so rare for so long you just don't see many compaired to other options.
The rockers on Kaases heads are fine for race use and big cams.

Ok, good point on them being so rare for so long. A boss 9 would be the ultimate dragster Motor IMP, since it would practically ride around on a display stand..

The Kaase Boss Nine heads were not really intended to be a race head, but more of a replica head. The port entry/exit is still in the same factory location, due to Jon's choosing. Thus we have "low" ports. Nothing wrong with the heads, I like them. However, I believe that the C-460 heads and or Pro-Filer 205 heads, along with the Thor heads would still make a better and more powerful racing engine for the dragster that you mentioned.

Oh, no doubt, all those heads would make more power, I was just saying for the cool factor, the boss 9 couldn't be beat.

Nice! I am very happy with my C-head 600 - and it looks pretty nice but that would bring it all together....
I had a guy tell me a couple of years ago that my junk was a "trailer queen" and that real bracket cars get driven to the track.... To each his own I guess.

Yep, Its a bracket car & I really didnt care if the Boss heads
were faster or slower. When it comes to eye candy, there just
aint nottin better then a Ford hemi! And as it turned out, its
about 2/10ths quicker then the Blue Thunder heads were.
