np 271

I have a 2008 f350 srw im planning to build for pulling. Will the np271 in this truck mount to the old np435 trans? Is it possible to run it divorced?

I know you can get a NP271 out of some of the automatic trans versions with 31 spline input or you could swap a 31 spline input into the case you have and then it would marry to your NP435. As far as making it a divorced setup I am not sure as I have not ever seen it.

I was talking to Cory Keck yesterday at his shop and He said there was a BW 4407 that came in 95-97 ford 1 tons. He said they a strong case. He makes alot of NP 205 stuff. I would give him a call. I think he could definitely help you out. He knows a lot about the Np205 limits and what needed strengthened. I added his contact info below.

Thanks for the info! I bought a 2008 350 srw to build with.its a 5.4 auto so ill check it out and see what spline it is.if the shaft would work i can machine up an adapter plate.

no I've ran into a problem.the low ratio wont work out for my 4.10 gears with the old 4spd.im leaning toward keeping the 205 for now.I got the f350 took apart today and looks like a healthy running gear.I first planned to swap axles to the old frame but now i'm thinking ill cut this one down to 137" and swap an old body over to it.that 08 front d60 sure has a set of trailing arms on it!
