1995 F350 Over Drive "OFF" Blinking
Went racing this past weekend (For another topic) but towing home I had it cruising at 65mph when the cruise control stopped and the "OFF" light on the overdrive arm starts blinking. Did this for a few minutes and then stopped.
Cruise control works again
Sensor somewhere going bad?

clock spring? Not sure if serious
Googled it a few minutes ago. Going to check the VSS sensor over the rear differential as most of the time this is the issue according to what I researched. Second would be speedo cluster or something? Hear something rattling around in there as well.

Get a code out of the pcm, cruise shut off due to the trans issue.

Re: 1995 F350 Over Drive "OFF" Blinking
There are only a few things that cause the cruise control to not work or to work intermittently
Burned out taillight or brake light.
Brake light switch
Bad speed sensor signal to the PCM.
Pressure switch on the master cylinder on it's way out. This is the little sensor/switch on the end of the brake master cylinder.
The range position sensor faulty. This is the sensor on the side of the transmission. Even though it may ohm out fine, it will not give a consistently good signal to the PCM.
The wires at the end of the shifter could be broken
Cruise control itself could be bad
Trailer wiring or trailer lights
Multi function switch going bad.
Need a code ! Hope this helps !

Thanks guys
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to work on the truck last night. Was working on Dads tractor and Brothers Camaro. My brother doesn't know it yet but I'm getting his car ready to race so he doesn't have to race his Honda Civic
However his payment will be a 429-460.com decal on the back glass

Swapped out the ABS/VSS sensor over the rear differential but no good. Still shuts down Intermittently. Guess I need to get it coded and find out what's up. Also noticed that the cruise control, when engaged, is surging as the speedometer moves up and down a few mph.

Update:
Finally got it on a code machine and it didn't have any codes. So after speaking with my old racing buddy who scanned the truck (He also owns a transmission shop) and then confirming it with Mike; we believe the shift solenoid pack may be acting up. So when I get a chance, I'll drop the pan and see what's up. Mike is checking on the parts I need. Thanks Mike!
To Be Continued.

Damon,is it still acting up or did it do it just the once? I was coming back from Bristol through the mountains and mine started blinking. After i got back to normal towing and the tranny cooled it didn't act up anymore, but i had to put 3qts of fluid in it when i got home.

Rick,
It's hit and miss and unpredictable. May go all day with no issues or go to kroger, get gas and then it acts up on the way home. Very odd that it didn't throw any codes. Trans fluid level is in normal range.
After I get my bobcat fixed then I'll look into the truck.

This transmission was totally rebuilt within the last 5K miles. I've put about 2K on the truck within the last 3 years. Mostly just towing the race car or picking up supplies for ?????

Unfortunately the Bobcat didn't get fixed this weekend. Ran into some seal installation issues and had to order new rod seals which will be here tomorrow.
Maybe tomorrow
