I just got my transmission back.. how many quarts will it take to fill up my c-6 4x4 trans?

Depends on the pan, converter, and trans cooler. Could be 8 -12 qts is an uneducated guess. I use the dip stick method.

usually if it stock convertor and pan is about 10qts I away put 2 in the convertor before I install it then 6 in and fire it up run it thro the gears and check then add teal I get it to the full mark running in park then drive it and get the trans up to temp and check it again

You need to verify the dipstick is correct. Run it down the outside of the tube and see where "FULL" is. Should be just above the pan rail or thereabouts. Then have the oil at the full mark at operating temp. To many variables to guess.
