Oil pan help Empty Oil pan help

Post  tfsbbf466 May 23rd 2014, 11:21 am

I need a new oil pan for my truck. It takes a fox style rear sump pan. Current one seems to leak from everywhere no idea why. What should I buy that people have had good experience with? 4.15 stroke 514 stock 2 bolt block street strip been 9.98 130. Hoping for solid high 9s after a few small changes.

I have a Moroso with a brand new 1 piece gasket and it seems to leak from everywhere.

Did you install, seal and torque everything properly?

I used a FMS 1 piece gasket and I tighten from the middle of the block outward on both sides. Not torqued just tight with a 1/4" ratchet. None of my other motors leak with stock pans bbfs and Windsors. I did change a cam in the truck though I don't remember if it leaked beforehand. Either way I want a new pan when I pull it out.

If you changed the cam while it was still in the truck i would bet that the pan is leaking where the front cover/ oil pan come together. It is tough to keep that from leaking if you aren't careful putting it back together. I would think that with the engine out and put together carefully you won't have any leaks. Plenty of these pans/gaskets out there with no leaks. Good luck!
