Ford 5.4 engine
Looking to buy me another truck for a daily driver and pull my ranger with sometimes. I have herd the 5.4 is the best choice in the F150 class for pulling not going to buy a new truck looking for a good used one around the mid 2000 range. I want a 4 door this time the only reason and was told the 2005 and up gets the best mpg in the 5.4 engine. Just wondering how the ones with 5.4 likes them and how they pull a enclose trailer 24' at about 5000#s.

I bought one new in 2000 4x4 extend cab and now my son owns it and has 270,000 miles on it. Stay away from the 3 valve 5.4 in my opinion . 97 to 03 and of those 00 to 02 being the best years for the 5.4. 15.6 mpg city and 19 hwy were the best that I got with mine. 13.5 towing.
This is from my own experience . Good luck.
