Re: 466 no longer for sale
Steve, are you saying this car runs high 9's in the 1/4? If so, that's got to be the strongest pump gas 466 in a Torino ever. That car would have to make nearly 1000hp to do that at 4350#. I don't see how that's possible. Can you post some time slips. I may be heading to Arkansas.

no problem my local track is 1/8 or 1000ft cut back from 1/4 mile. Using the Wallace calculator and the 1000ft times of 9.80 equals 11.80's at 112 in the 1/4 mile. still not sure were other poster came up with 1/4 info since it was never mentioned maybe to many beers? I try to let things slide but his comments and snide remarks were just uncalled for. If I was short with you I apologize. I appreciate you owning up to your question thanks,

Thanks for the complement. We did not know the car was leaving hard enough to pull the front wheel until the track owner came over and told us. very fun comb that has power no matter were it is in the rpm range. just as rough numbers half of what we are asking is what the heads intake and carb cost. like you said not hard to tie up a bunch of money in one engine. I'm sure whoever ends up with it will be more than impressed.

Re: 466 no longer for sale
Steve, so in 1/8 mile that be a 7.60 to . 7.80 pass. ? So that hp estimate would be 520 plus! Very good.
I am just trying to see where my 466 would rate hp wise . Thanks again and good luck with the sale

slip
wife found a time slip 1.60 60ft 1/8 7.61 at 90.56 1000ft 9.80 at 101.95 shifting at 5500rpm like I said this is without a real tuneup so you know there's more hp there.

Wow man you must be uptight , I don't see where he was making any snide remarks towards your post , the way you posted it threw a few of us off including me , I've also never heard of a 1000' track other than what they make the nitro guys run now, I assumed you just forgot to write 9.75 to 9.80 and number of passes in the 1/4 after you said how many street miles and 1000' passes were on it.70429scj wrote:no problem my local track is 1/8 or 1000ft cut back from 1/4 mile. Steve, I think you're being a little too sensitive. Happy Father's day. Seriously.

track
Well that's strange that you haven't heard of one cause this is the 3rd 1000ft track I have run at the first one was in Missouri back in the early 80's.
