Ford racing N351 heads on 408ish inch Windsor...
Competition valve job and blending the VJ into the casting is all that is allowed. Application is short course off road racing so it has to be durable... And make a bunch of power lol... 4150hp carb, cast intake, can run VP C16 fuel.... What kind of power can be expected from something like this? Thanks in advance...

Id expect north of 600 if it's built right, those are some damn fine heads.
Their are some published late model builds with those that should give you a better idea what to expect.
Mikey also runs them on his buddy's roundly round car.

Without having been on the dyno..
We are making roughly 570 / 580hp with a set of out the box N heads, NO porting what so ever...

Mike - Are you guys using the "stock" iron valve guides? Or have they been upgraded to bronze?

Must be iron.. They are straight out of the box...
Actually, the set in use has the iron guides..
The spare set that I bought used years ago has the bronze guides.

If you don't have the heads yet, the updated N352 is a slightly better performing head.

Thanks Mike. I found a new set that I'm thinking about getting and making a street bruiser for my Futura...

The choice of N351 vs N352 kinda depends on the application and engine displacement, wouldn't you agree Randy? But yes, the ports in the N352 have been revised (along with a few structural updates), and in a "no porting allowed" scenario the N352 is more likely the way to go...although 408 would be about max.rmcomprandy wrote:If you don't have the heads yet, the updated N352 is a slightly better performing head.

If realiability and every last bit of power for a spec rule class is the situation, then we offer for sale a really nice 0.150" offset rocker arm set for those heads (the intake valves and studs in the N heads are offset by 0.150").bluef100fe wrote: Application is short course off road racing so it has to be durable...
