Stock Eliminator Fox Body Suspension.
Got started yesterday on the front, found a bunch of wore out stuff so I'm going to change over to the 87 and up spindles. Going to stick with the 4 lug stuff because I already have some wheels.
I've installed a flaming river manual rack. And I'm going to stick with the factory brakes for the time being.
Suggestions for springs? Struts? Alignment? Front suspension tricks? Tires? (Got 15x4 rims)
Keep in mind this is stock eliminator and they have a lot of rules.
What about rear suspension? Can't use hiem joint lowers but adjustable uppers are acceptable. What angles would be good? Running a 15x8 wheel with some 28x9 slicks (rules are no more than 9" tread width). Springs? Bars? Keep the sway bar? Shocks? Bushings?
What modes to the suspension points?
Going to be a 5.0 stick car.

The good ole lift bars would be a good fit in that application. Use double adjustable uppers. I would use 4 cylinder springs and trusty single adj strange struts/shocks. I would drop the sway bars. Can you run an aftermarket arb?

I do not believe anti roll bars are legal, thats why I'm thinking the factory rear sway bar could help.

Factory sway bar off a 85 CFI car is a bigger diam and works great on the rear.
X2 on 4cyl springs and adjustable uppers as for struts the good old 70/30 factory work great with the 4cyl springs don't run a front sway bar it will help transfer to the rear. Is there a rule on comp and piston type?

Yes there is a list of allowed pistons. They are 4 valve relief flat tops and compression is 9.12:1

Re: Stock Eliminator Fox Body Suspension.
We had to run a class one time that required a 4 valve relief piston and factory foed heads also but we didn't have a rule on compression so I ordered a 2 valve relief pistons and had 2 small relief cut just enough that it could be seen. It was legal and we had almost 12.1 comp and we was running some old 289 hi po heads and race gas. Not sure if you can do that but it something to think about, there are a lot better heads out now from factory but it's was just some old junk we had laying around. It ran some 7.0s with a 5 spd and 4.30 gear.

The rules are very strict on parts and specs. No getting away with something like that and being legal.

You'll be running more rear gear than you are used to and many of the guys now run the radial slick. Eliminating any source of friction, stiction or rotating weight is key to hitting the number. Good Luck!

Re: Stock Eliminator Fox Body Suspension.
What is the deal with running 4 cyl rear springs? Until team z new rear springs the recommendation on a rear spring was a v8 rear spring with a coil cut off it. From what I have read and understand this is what his new springs are based off of. And I was having body roll issues with a 302 and 250+ shot of nitrous and Jon told me to put a rear sway bar on it. I did and the 60ft was better and calmed it down a little. If you do run a rear sway bar find one off the early mustangs. They are a little smaller but they are solid. The 94-98 mustangs have a bigger rear sway bar but its hollow.

I have seen more hollow sway bars break and havent seen a solid rear sway ba break. Just replaced my brothers on his 96 gt all stock and this dinky (compared to the hollow one) on my car has been great with 1.5x 60' for 3 years and my car is no feather weight.
