$50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????
Anyone else watch this new show Fast n Furious Rolling Thunder tonight ??
Some clown gave these guys a $50,000 budget to make a 70 Chevelle run a 13 second 1/4 ... For $50,000 I could make one run deep in the nines ... There's some BBC power for ya ... LOL!!

All those show's are BS but it is tolerable to an extent.
I like how on street outlaws everyones cars have been getting more and more money dropped into them. Makes me think we ought to start our own Mississippi list, then go after them.

Re: $50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????
I saw the previews where the Chevelle owner said it currently runs 15's.
Then he said he wants it to run 13's.
Then they flash to a shot of the 572 crate engine.
I was hooked then...I stuck around long enough to make sure what I heard was right.
At 10:00 I start watching the show.
At 10:08 I headed for bed....shaking my head of course.

Re: $50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????

Ya know what these shows lack imo is the sound. Yea I know you hear a little bit,but like on street outlaws.,Crank it up and let us hear that lopeylope and the 7k rpm burnout w/tire churp when they decelerate. Gearheads wanna hear some noise bitches.

That's what I thought too Dave ... I was just flipping through channels last night when I saw what I thought was another car show ... It was hilarious!! Especially when they said that 572 made so much power that it literally welded the pinion bearing to the pinion shaft ... WOW !! I had to find smething else to do ... LOL!!

For 50k I would have left the numbers matching boat alone and built something else and had money left over and made it run 10's

Re: $50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????
But then you wouldn't have a TV story that was dumbed down for the masses. You wouldn't see hydraulic clutch lines causing some sort of clearance crisis, you wouldn't have to "tear the whole engine down again" to replace pushrods that were already exposed, you wouldn't have called a failed pinion bearing a "ball bearing" that was welded to the shaft by the ungodly power, and on and on and on......

Re: $50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????
I was teased into watching that crap by the "new show" commercial that featured a Nova jerking the hoops into the air....I figured there might be some actual drag racing. 5 minutes of that B.S. cured me.

Re: $50,000.00 ....!!!!!?????
You guys missed it last week when a guy paid them 25,000 to take an old 12 second 64 Galixie and make it run under 12 seconds. They were paid a bonus because it ran under 12 seconds.........yeah an 11.99. They took the automatic out and put a stick in. Never said what they did to the motor, if anything. What a joke show!! Oh wait maybe it was the fact that they painted it white that made it faster!!! I'd love to see what some guys on here could run with that kind of budget!!!

That show made no sense. The car looked like a bracket car and they swapped out an auto for a stick.
