Nano peening on valve springs when is needed and why?

I have noticed a lot of spring company's starting this.

Less breakage when stressed to near the max.

Randy are they doing the hole spring just the faces of them. I know we have got gears with this done before I thought it was done for meshing parts or lots of wear areas?

The whole spring ... it is usually done in conjunction with ion nitride.
