Re: Cut tire pass from this weekend
523 and a 200 shot! I took home the money with that pass.
Nobody at the race believed that I drive this truck on the road and it uses pump gas as well!
Just an example of what a BBF can do w/ out of the box SCJ heads and a little juice!

Re: Cut tire pass from this weekend
It probably woulda been quicker if it spent more time on the ground. That thing boogies.

What did it run for a time and how long was the pit? Are you still running Dove-C's?

Re: Cut tire pass from this weekend
Out of the box SCJ heads... It ran a 4.02 in the pit, but on top of the ground I can get into the mid to low 3 second range in 200'. My truck doesn't do as well in the deep bog pits because it weighs soo much, but I believe the weight helps it hook on track that it can get to the bottom. Truck still weighs right at 5000lbs.

No trans brake launch, just point and shoot?

Yeah I can't believe how hard it leaves either. I don't have a trans brake at the moment, but would like to get a Merkyl unit in the future.... All I can figure is the extra weight is helping it bite!

Are you running ladder bars, four link, Cal - tracks or some other type of rear suspension?

Re: Cut tire pass from this weekend
That's another crazy thing about this truck! It is factory suspension! I do have an axle wrap limiter bar that mounts to the top of the axle at the spring u-bolts and courses forward to the front spring mount. It has poly-bushings at each end and has a little adjustment for length. I'll throw up a pic when I change tires.------No ladder bar or 4-link, just leaf springs and an axle wrap limiting bar.
BBF-Falcon----Thanks for the compliment ! It is fun to drive! I couldn't have built it without the help of all the knowledge available on this board!

What size tires are you running? Did you cut them yourself?

37" boggers on the back and Q78 Tsl's on the front. I cut the tires myself... Boy was that ever a bad idea! It took forever!

Re: Cut tire pass from this weekend
Hey Jones! Good to hear from you! Racing has been pretty slow this year because chad and I both have been re-building our rigs. I've only made 2 races this year, and it looks like I'm done for the season.
Chad still has your short block, but we have his truck in a million pieces right now changing some things up.
I found two 4-bolt blocks here locally, and that is the platform I built my motor off of.
