Job Title Engineering Technologist, Global Engine Engineering

Job Description & Qualifications Position Duties:
Create, maintain, and update engine component, engine weight, and vehicle build matrices for each series of prototype engine builds.
Ensure prototype engine build content is consistent with program assumptions
Monitor engine matrix changes and coordinate necessary engine build updates with all affected activities.
Coordinate engine build / re-build / teardown activities at the engine prototype facilities.
Coordinate component bench testing activities.
Assist in setting up design aid engines and bucks. Coordinate hardware fabrication as necessary.
Initiate miscellaneous prototype parts purchases and follow up as necessary.
Assist engine dynamometer and bench test personnel with hardware support.
Provide engine hardware support to the prototype vehicle build activity.
Provide launch and stop ship support to the Vehicle Assembly Plants.
Actively participate in GEE product and process improvement activities.
Travel to various North American locations will be required; up to from 10 to 25% annually.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Significant knowledge of engine function, troubleshooting, and repair (including full teardown and rebuild)
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Proven track record of integrity and a strong work ethic
Self-directed, able to analyze and solve problems.
Proven high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
ASE Certified Mechanic or equivalent certifications and/or experience
Experience as a mechanic at an automotive dealership
Other Qualifications:
ASE Certified Master Mechanic is a preferred qualification, but not required
