Whats all needed to go inside a reed alum case? I mean I figure everything but like what drums which sprag would a stock planetary work? Thanks for any info.

I would think stock parts would fit but why? Thats like putting pump gas in a promod! Razz

Try to find an old used up stock core.. then you can harvest the small hardware from that. Things like the pawl for the park brake and the little clamp that holds it etc are all available but I think the small parts kit is like 300 bucks or so from Reid or ATI

Parts selection on planetaries etc will depend on your projected power level... Stock stuff will work but wont last long if you apply much over 750 hp.

Lots of guys still use the stock drums and reverse pistons etc. modified to suit the number of clutches required. Stock servo cover works fine even at 250 psi line pressure. The billet ones look pretty cool tho Very Happy

I need this tranny to handle at least a 1000hp.

What oe parts that's in a glide need to be up graded to handle a 1000hp?

Planetary, input shaft, dual ring servo and clutch hub. Other parts are nice, but not 100 % required. Servo spring, new pump gears, etc.

kevlar band (std width), stock drum w 8 frictions, deep pan, hardned band adj pin, aftermarket stator pump half .......

add this to Davids list you should be good.




Ill have a nice bte ringless input for sale soon, and may know where a Bte pump half is w a pinned stator tube.

Ok let me know. If I knew exactly what to buy as well as understood what to buy, I'ld go ahead and buy it but I dont know so i gotta do or might I say I'm doing some research to try to understand what's what.
plus, what the pro's and cons for the power glide and the c6?
