I want to use bellhousing flyweel cluch from 87 460 on my 77 460 by rebalancing flyweel
Has anyone done this I want to use 87 bellhousing and flyweel by rebalancing it to zero I talked to machine shop they said they could do it I'm having trouble finding any parts to do 400 bellhousing 390 flyweel I thought if it works it would be the way to go

I don't see why that would be a problem as long as it's balanced right, everything else should be good to go. We have done the very same thing before only ours came from an 85 model f-250...I don't think you will have any issues.-A

If you are using a 400 bellhousing, the pilot bushing needs to be the small OD version used in the 5.0 motors. It fits in the innermost hole in the crank flange. Most 460 flanges are drilled for both large and small bushings. The 335 series engines' crank flange does not protrude past the back of the block as far as the 460 flange does. The difference is about 1/2 inch. I have done quite a few 400 4 speed to 460 swaps, which is why I am aware of this. First one was a real head scratcher!!

So once I get the rebalancing dun it should just bolt together? This sounds alot better for me never doing any kind of swap before when I started doing this 95 bronco it was just going to be a bush truck everything I used I had at home after I got the 38.5 11 15 boggers I put it back on the road right now it's got 2 weel c6 and devorsed transfer case I thank everyone for the help I think when I get this done I'll be able to drive it on the road without worrying about the 45 degree back drive shaft
externally balanced flyweel not the same bolt patrn as internal balanced motor?
I read somthin about the crank on my internal balanced motor not having the same bolt patrn as the external flywheel I gess I'll know soon anuff I'm waiting for it to show up but if anyone knows about this let me know
