Nitrous Bottle Mount Location
Can the bottles be mounted in the driver compartment or do they have to be shielded from the driver just like a fuel cell ?
Never mind, found the answer.
Any pics of the mounts would be good.
Thanks in advance,
John

I use a chassis engineering twin standup mount in the 69, mounted where the pass seat would be. its the easiest access as we have the bottles in and out before each pass. I can also reach both the valves from the drivers seat strapped in... allthough I use a 1/4 turn valve to shut them on and off during the run.
the sb car runs a single 10 pounder mounted w cheap brackets in the pass side floor.... no 1/4 turn... cuz its a cheap ride lol.
the bottles can be in the pass compartment but need the racer safety blowoff valves and a -8 tube or hose connected and rounted outside the car.

John you need to know what the quench is how much meat you got from top of piston to first ring land. do you have all sharp edges rounded chambers softened what kind of cam specs do you have?
There is a lot to trying to find out how much nitrous you can run but a stock run of the mill set up will take 250 with a decent tune.
How good is your tuning how much do you trust your self a bad tune will kill the best parts. Hope this helps in your quest to nitrous fun

10.5:1, SCJB heads, A460 block, eagles rods, Scat forged 4.5" crank, probe pistons are the main components. I don't know the distance from the top of the piston to the 1st landing. It's not a dedicated nitrous cam I know that. It was built as a street pump-gas deal.
Whatever system I decide will be flowed and tuned by the supplier.

You will more than likely be just fine with a 200-250
I got probe pistons in my set up and scj-b heads my static is 10.8 my pistons have .300 minus valve and dish I'm going to hit it with some where around there but I have direct port set up and a plate going on .

You can have more juice than you will use or even need, ease it into kill mode ..start small and follow the tune check the plugs often, and you will want some better gas on the juiced side at least. As for the bottle passenger compartment is fine just put a -8AN bulkhead through the floor or firewall, if you do not want to cut new hole you may be able to use an existing seat belt mount or firewall hole.
