Here is the pan - is it from a marine / jet boat and can I run it on a 429 in my 75 Ford truck?  Looks like it is designed to keep the oil in the front of the pan under acceleration.

What pan is this? Pan

If it's the same dept as a front sump passenger car pan the sump will be right on the crossmember. If the oil drain plug is on the side you won't be able to remove it. You can put a weld in drain plug in the front bottom of the sump.

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/BM00/80250/N0616.oap?ck=Search_N0616_1095904_-1&pt=N0616&ppt=C0377 I used one of these and left the back nut and nylon washer off, and welded it on. Check it for leaks before you put it on the engine. The front sump pans are a tight fit in a F150, and you will have to pull the engine if you need to take it off for any reason. You might consider looking for a rear sump truck pan.

What pan is this? Empty Brazed in the oil pump bung.

I have taken one of the metal add-on drains and just brazed it in.  You have to clean the metal really well.
I did not like the nylon seals that come with them.

The truck pan actually holds more oil as the sump is bigger. I made my own baffle ( copied the one shown in the picture) and added it to the big truck pan. Best of both worlds.
