rear disc for fox
Ok first off let me say lots of guys that own fox mustang want disc brakes so here is a write up of how we do this for the budget minded and d.i.y guys....
You want disc brakes on the rear of your fox but you've already built the rear end no problem. Your local pull a part should have a stock pile of 94-98 stang. We use the 99-03 v6 parts cause the rear brake lines are run separate.
You want the rear brake brackets and calipers and stock proportional valve off these cars now order some new rotors for the year you got the parts from and your ready to start your conversion...
Take the passengers side bracket and cut the front top section off and it goes on the driver side behind the axle housing flange... do the same for the driver and it goes to the passenger side they will bolt right against the flange do not shim them there...now put your 5 lug axle in and hang the rotor put a lug nut on it to hold the rotor against the axle and hang the caliper and bracket now this is where you shim it to make sure it's centered.....
the brackets you cut should bolt up with 3 bolts now one front lower and both top and bottom on the back don't forget goes behind the housing flange...
I will get some pics when I pull the rear end from a customers car... thanks and I hope this is helpful to some of you

Re: rear disc for fox
I'm in the process of a very similar build. Mine's a Fox body housing, SN95 axles, and the 99-04 brakes going into a '01. The goal is to shorten each side approximately 1" so that I can drop the back of the car a bit. Most of the brake components are interchangeable so this will give a pretty good idea of how things go together. GMSMKR asked me to post up some pics of mine so here we go.
Here's the "new" housing getting prepped for the new components. Axle ends cut off for the Strange c-clip eliminators and the old rubber bushings knocked out. I also ground off a bunch of the casting lines while everything was apart.
Here's the Team Z full brace kit installed and axle tubes fully welded.
The C-Clip eliminators all pressed on the axles:
The housing all painted up and drying. You'll notice that I added a lift point to the bottom of the brace. That should make jacking the rear of the car up a little bit safer.
Here's my little box of sweetness that showed up Friday afternoon from Team Z. Upper and lower control arms, upper link relocation brackets, and their anti-sway bar is burried in the bottom of the box. I'll weld that in place before I slide the new axle back in.
I ran into a slight issue with a spool that wasn't fully splined, so the project is on a 3-4 day hold while I get that sorted out. I'll add the rest of the pics of the project next weekend.

Looking good tim
Also in this particular swap for the 99-04 cars you do not have to cut the brake brackets or swap them they bolt on just like factory.... in tim's case he is running c-clip elem and a full spool so it's a little different but still sets up just like a factory spec rear end.

Here's the 2nd half of the instal.
Gears and spool are in:
C-clip elims all pressed on the axles and installed:
Cover installed:
The Team Z upper links and relocation bracket installed and ready to go under the car:
All installed. I needed to get new caliper mounting bolts (12 x 50mm) and added .500" spacers to center the bracket.
Here's a shot from the front:
Rear view of the new width- I still have about 1.5" clearence to the inner fenderwells so I can move the rubber further in with a different BS wheel on the next go-round.
Here's the new stance. Tires tucked in just car enough to drop the rear about an inch from where I started. I'll roll the inner fender lips just to make sure that I have plenty of clearence.
Overall I'm very happy with it. The new 3.55's really work better for cruising RPM's and it pulls like a freight train. It hooks nice and straight with the Team Z anti sway bar. I'm looking foreward to bumping up the boost and seeing how it does with some real power.

Pics of fox axles with 99-04 disc brakes installed with c clip eleminators and keeping it stock fox width..
Brackets cut and swap sides go on the inside of the flange then all bolted back on with c clip studs and disc brake brackets back in position

Re: rear disc for fox
hey gmsmkr I would like to do the swap myself but I still have the four lug axles! so do I do everything the same and just order rotors with the same width as the stock 99-04 rotors, but for my strange four lug axles! thanks I like!

Yes... you will want the same depth and size rotor in a 4 lug you may have to shim the caliper at the bracket. Don't shim the bracket at the axle flange if you can help from doing so..

I like it when people figure out how to "repurpose" factory parts for a new application.
